Same scene, take two...

JENNIFER: ...and cut! Mission accomplished. I finally got back on my bike and beat the rain and rode - about 35 minutes. I didn't go very far, but I felt great and I was so happy when I got back home that tears sort of came to my eyes. Today was a good day.

P.S. I learned about tubes today. I didn't learn how to change one, but I plan to attend one of Bicycle Sport Shop's women-only classes soon to learn all sorts of important bike maintenance lessons. L, you in?

Congrats on the bike ride! Don't feel bad about trashing the tire. We've all done that while changing one (usually while we were in a hurry).

I highly recommend taking a bike maintenance class, and a "women's only" class sounds like a great idea. Let's face it, we guys are too clueless to be around when you are trying to learn something important.

Here's to more good training rides in the future, after all, I plan on riding with you guys at the Austin LIVESTRONG Challenge this year. :-)

I always make my husband do the air pump. It makes him feel useful, since I don't let him touch anything else on the bike! ;) When and where is this class at? I'd love to join you girls. I need it, that's for sure.

Hi Jen and Lauren...I was just cruising through the website..I am trying to get my website up and can't seem to get the jpeg pic I want on it..too big. Anyway, started reading your blog and had a laugh cuz you two crazies are Lost fans...any chance you are partial to Sawyer? I have known Josh Holloway since he was 17...spent lots of time with him back in the mid 80's when he was getting his start as a model...I was the hair stylist that put him in his first show. He is a wonderful person. I would love to trade stories for some tips or would love to join you for the 70 mile challenge. It will be my second Livestrong ride and I am a little apprehensive about the chip and tarred roads and steep climbs. Keep riding...time in the saddle will make you strong and confident. The bike changed my life and my attitude :) - plus you all might could use my help some time...I write grants, am a race organizer and program planner, etc for non-profits. And I hate cancer. I do nothing without passion cuz that means it aint worth doing.
